Disposition of John Dowdall's Estate and the lordship and manor of Knockbillinslie.
Sir John Dowdall, about 25 April 1623, made a settlement of his property, consisting of the several denominations hereinafter mentioned; and on 24 March, 1638, by virtue of a commission for remedy of defective titles, and the fine of 113 / 3s. / 7 and a half d., English, paid by the said John Southwell, and Anne, his wife. King Charles I confirmed the lordship and manor of Knockbillingslie, the circuit of the manastery of Tahkeale, the castle, town, and lands in the barony of Connalloe and co. Limerick, to hold to them and the heirs of her body; remainer to Anthony Dowdall and his heirs; remainder the rights and heirs of their father, with several dispositions of parcels of the premises, all which were created into the manor of Knockbillingslie, otherwise Mount Southwell, with usual privileges.
