Biography

Dyce was born on 24 Nov 1840 (although his birth was not registered until the second quarter of 1841) [1], the son of Robinson Duckworth and Elizabeth Forbes Nicol. He was baptised on 28 Feb 1841 at St. Bride's Church, Liverpool.[2] After education at the Royal Institution School, Liverpool, he studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, graduating there in 1862 MB (Edin.) [3] He married, firstly, Annie Alicia Hopkins, daughter of Alexander Hopkins, on 26 Apr 1870. (She was married as Annie Smith).[4] He married, secondly, Ada Emily Fuller, daughter of George Arthur Fuller and Georgina Craven Loraine-Smith, on 4 Nov 1890.[5] He died on 20 Jan 1928 at age 87.[6]
