OBITUARY

MRS M. E. McMAHON The .death took place tbia morning shortly .after Midnight, of Mrs Mary Ellen McMahon,/ widow of the late Mr J. H. McMahon, mine manager, of the New Big River Mine, after an lasting for a considerable period. Tbe deceased ladv entered tbe ReeftonHospital abeut a fortnight ago to under-l go an operation. and though she came through the ordeal well, and ‘seemed in a fair way to recovery, her strength gradually failed, sand yesterday afternoon she farewelled every one of her children, and later went into a sound sleep in which she passed away at 12.15 a.m. The late Mrs McMahon was well known in the district, having resided here practically all her life, and was pre-deceased by her husband six years ago. She leaves a family of three daughters and five sons, tbe youngest of whom is 14 years of age. The children are Misses Emily, Mary, and Joan, and the sons are John, Edward, Reggie, Hugh, and Kenneth, and Mr H. Duggan, of Tawa Flat, is a brother. The late Mrs McMahon was 50 years of age, and has a very wide circle of friends who will learn with the deepest regret of her demise The interment takes place on Wednesday, leaving her late residence, Upper Broadway, at 2 p.m. for the Sacred Heart Church, thence to the Suburban Cemetery. ^[5]
