Daniel was the son of Denis Duggan of Knockinane,[1][2] his mother was probably a Cronin as Daniel Cronin was his uncle.[3]
His father would have died by 1718/9 as Daniel renewed the lease on Knockinane as of 24th March 1718/9.[4] Daniel probably had no children at this stage as the other two lives on the lease were not his children.
The lease was renewed again on 10th January 1735/6, soon after the death of Philip Cronin one of the lives from the 1718/9 renewal.[5] Daniel's daughter Mary was added to the lease in place of Philip.[6] Curiously this deed was not registered until November 1740.
He married Ellen Mahony around 1720.[7] They had:
He was dead by 1742.[1]
Philip Cronin was probably his first cousin and son of Timothy/ Tadgh Cronin. He was of Knocknagree when he died and it seems likely that the Daniel who inherited Knocknagree was the son of his older brother Derby.

We have tried to fit lease marriage, tombstone & family data into a composite picture and this compilation is considered entirely preliminary"
