Biography
- Jacques was born in Dec 12, 1719 in LaPrairie, Québec. He was the son of Jacques Demers and Marie Barbe Brosseau. [1]
- Jacques Dumay (Dumee') married Marie Chevalier on July 21 1744.[2] They are found together as married at Michillimackinac. Their children are baptized in the registers at the Parish of Saint Anne at Mackinac. Their Children listed are as follows:
- Marie - b. 5 Mar 1744[3] bpt - 21 Jul 1744
- July 21, 1744, I supplied the ceremonies of Baptism in the church of this mission to Marie, daughter of marie chevalier and jaques Dumee — which child they acknowledged to be their legitimate child at their marriage celebrated this same day. The godfather was M. de Ramesai, Captain of a company of the marine detachment and commandant for the king at Nepigon : and the godmother marie francoise alaVoinc, wife of Sieur jean Baptiste chevalier, who signed with mo. * * *
