Biography

Robert Dunbar was born before 1565 in Ross & Cromarty, Scotland. He was the son of George Dunbar.

Mentioned in documents as son to George 22 Aug 1598, 27 June 1601 [Register of the Privy Council of Scotland v.5 p.701, v.6 p.689]; mentioned as brother of John Dunbar fiar of Avoch, Sep 1599 [Register of the Privy Council of Scotland v.6 p.621]. He was tutor to George Dunbar of Avach [son of his brother James?]

He was mentioned as tutor of Avach, Sasines, Inverness, etc. v. 7 [1648-1658] 206, and son of George Dunbar of Avach, v. 6, 116 (1636-1643]..

Robert Dunbar married Isobel MacIntosh in Scotland.

Robert Dunbar was mentioned in a deed dated 27 June 1601.[1]

Nov 2 1621: nominato Robert Dunbar tutor of Avoch, keeper of the said stamp and seal (for Lord Erskin).

Robert died after 1621.
