John was born on 1st December 1839 in Tucking Mill by Camborne, Cornwall, England. He was a son of John Dunstone of Trevenson and Clarinda Bennetts. [1]
He was Baptised on 8 January 1840, aged 5 weeks at the Tuckingmill, WM Circuit, Cornwall. [2]
On 6 June 1841 John Dunstone (20) Copper Miner & Clarinda Dunstone (20) with John Dunstone (1) & James Dunstone (1 Month) lived in Tuckingmill, Camborne, Cornwall, England. [3]
James and Clarinda started their family and emigrated from England. They departed London via Southampton & Plymouth on 2 August 1846 and arrived in Port Adelaide, South Australia on 11 November 1846 on board the vessel Lady Bruce.
Sister Jenifer was born in Kapunda, South Australia on 29 January 1847.
John Dunstan married Maria Jane Bray on 20 Oct 1859 at Penwortham, Clare, South Australia.[4] Fathers John Dunstan and Samuel Bray.
John Dunstan passed away on 18th February 1903 in Adelaide, South Australia, and was buried in Spring Farm Cemetery, near Clare, South Australia.[5] [6]
His great grandson, Donald Dunstan, would become the 30th and longest-serving Governor of South Australia.
