May have been a second son. The Visitation of Worcestershire 1569[1] gives him as Richard, although his identity is confirmed by the Plea Rolls of 1485 as being William, son of Thomas Dyneley of Charlton, and the father of his son William when William junior's marital wardship was subject to a dispute between Robert Throckmorton and Sir William Gascoigne.
In 1484/5 Sir William Gascoigne brought an action against Robert Throckmorton and John Hardwyk on a 'plea why they took away William Dineley a minor,' son and heir of [this] William Dineley, who had been seised of the manor of Charlton and had held it as of the manor of Oversley [a Throckmorton superiority] by the service of a knight's fee. This is the last mention of the Gascoignes' interest in the manor.[2]
The Visitation also notes that he married Margaret Tracy.
His IMP was taken in 1515.[3]
