A third child was stillborn and James claimed that he was not the father of this child, with this said he divorced Ella and abandoned his children. Ella not able to raise Jesse and Elizabeth on her own, left them with her parents Perry and Florence McIntyre to be raised in Ghent, Kentucky. She went to Lexington, Kentucky to find work for herself.^[1]

James Lewis Eades married Lilly Florence Clemmons sometime prior to the 1913 birth of their child. They are believed to have had 4 children:
