Sir Frederick Morton Eden was born 18 June 1766, the son of Sir Robert Eden, 1st Baronet, of Maryland, and his wife Caroline Calvert, sister of the last Lord Baltimore. He appears on wikipedia. His father was the last Governor of Maryland, prior to the Independence of the United States.
Frederick Morton Eden Baronet, of the Inner Temple, London married Ann Smyth, a minor, with consent of her father James Paul Smyth Esq. by licence[1]on 10 January 1792 at St. George Hanover Square, Middlesex, England[2][3].
He studied at Christ Church, Oxford and gained a reputation as a social investigator into poverty. He wrote The State of the Poor, published in 3 volumes in 1797.
He was one of the founders of the Globe Insurance Company and later, 1803, its chairman.
He died suddenly at the office of the company at the early age of 43, on 14 Nov 1809.
