Biography

Hannah Edgeler was born 18 May 1840 in Hurtmore, Surrey. She was the daughter of James and Mary Edgeler. She was christened on 14 Jun 1840 at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Godalming, Surrey. Her father's occupation was given as sawyer, and the family's address as Hurtmore.

Hannah married Edward Davies in 1868 in Guildford district. Edward was a butler.

Edward died 28 Aug 1901 at his home in Peperharow Road, Godalming, aged 58. He was buried on the 31st in Nightingale Cemetery, Godalming, in the consecrated section.

Hannah died 12 Jun 1906 at her home, Las Palmas, Shepperton, Middlesex, aged 66. She was buried in the same grave as Edward, on the 16th.

Research Notes

The marriage registration, the censuses and the children's birth registrations all give the family surname as Davis, but the memorial inscription has Davies.
