Biography

William Edings was the son of William Edings and Rachael. He lived on Edisto Island, Charleston County, South Carolina.

Marriage

William Edings was married at least twice:

1. Tabitha Bower, the daughter of Henry Bower who died in 1725. He described his daughter in his will as Tabitha Edins.^[1]

2. Theodora Ash Law, 27 Sept 1733, widow of Joseph Law of Berkeley.^[2][3][4]

Property

Property conveyed by Henry Bowers in 1707, on Edisto Island.^[5] The Edings family property would in the future be known as Locksley Hall Plantation.^[2]

Slaves

William Edings was a slaveholder. After his death his probate inventory in 1756 named and valued the enslaved.^[6]

Death

William Edings died intestate in 1756. His widow, Theodora Edings was appointed Executrix.^[2]
