Mary Matilda Edwards, 1916-1978, was the daughter of Chester A. Edwards and Mary Leigh. [1]
In 1920, he Edwards family lived in Pannock, Idaho. The family included Chester Edwards, 26, a farmer; his wife, May L., 24; and their daughters, Ella, 5; and May M. (Mary Matilda), 3. All were born in Idaho, as were their parents. They owned their property with a mortgage. [2]
In 1930, the Edwards family lived in a rented house in Malad,mOneida, Idaho. The household included Chester Edwards, 37, a mechanic for a hardware company, not a veteran, who married at age 20; his wife, Mary L., 35, who married at 18; their children, all born in Idaho, Ella E., 15, in school; Mary M., 13, in school; Chester L., 9, in school; Glen J., 3; and Ida May, 1. Mary Edwards married Woodrow W. Peterson in Salt Lake, Utah on 11 June 1935. [4]
They had a daughter, Hannah Lugene (Peterson) Hill, and a son, Mark W. Peterson.
Mary (Edwards) Peterson, 61, died of cancer at Oneida County Hospital on 7 July 1978. She was married at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple in 1935. Mary was survived by her husband; son, Mark W. Peterson; daughter, Lugene Hill; five grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. [5]
Mary, 1916-1978, and her husband are buried together in St. John Cemetery, St Johns, Oneida, Idaho. [6]
