George Edwards was interred in California.

George was born on 28 Apr 1838[1] in Southampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts, United States.[2] His parents were Elisha Edwards and Julia King Edwards. [3][1]

George was a Civil War veteran. He served the Union Army as a Private and then a 1st Sergeant in Company B, 31st Regiment, Massachusetts Infantry,[4] and then 2nd Lieutenant and 1st Lieutenant Company A & B, 2nd Regiment, District of Columbia Infantry.[5] The dates of his service are: Private, Company B, 31st Massachusetts Infantry from 5 Oct 1861 to 7 Jul 1862; 2nd Lieutenant, Company A and then 1st Lieutenant, Company B, 2nd District of Columbia Infantry from 2 Mar 1863 to 12 Sep 1865. George was injured on head by a fall and had chronic diarrhea. [6]

On 15 Dec 1864 George married Martha L. Lyman in Southampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts, United States.[7][8]

In 1865 George (27), wife Martha (27) and daughter Mary L (3) are living with George’s parents Elisha and Eunice and 3 siblings in Southampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts, United States. George is a farmer. [9][10]
