Biography
Alexander was born about 1625. He was the son of Thomas Eggleston and Margaret Dixon. He passed away about 1680. Alexander, whose son John Eggleston was baptized in Hexham in 1663, is probably this person. However, the plethora of Johns and Alexanders at this time makes confusion inevitable. He is mentioned in the will of his first cousin Alexander
