John Elkington was born in Lincolnshire, England.
John was baptised in 1720/21 in Ruskington, Lincolnshire, England. He was the son of Richard and Priscilla Elkington.[1]

In 1744/45 John married Elizabeth Lindsey in Welbourn, Lincolnshire.[2] Their children were:

  • John, baptised 1745, Metheringham[3]
  • Richard, 1746, Metheringham[4]
  • Elizabeth, 1748, Metheringham[5]
  • John, 1749, Metheringham[6]
  • Elizabeth, 1752, Timberland[7]
  • Priscilla, 1754, Timberland[8]
  • Thomas, 1759, Timberland[9]

Elizabeth died in 1779.[10]
