James Laidlaw and Jessie Elliot married in Yarrow, Selkirkshire on 29 May 1841^[1]. The 1841 Census was on June 6, but they appear to have missed it. Their marriage was also registered in Newcastle, England on 31 May 1841 (the bride's parish?), so they may have been in England (from Andrew's Birth Certificate in 1862).
