Richard English was born about 1660 likely in Boston, Massachusetts Bay, since records of his events describe him as being "of Boston." His parentage is unknown and pending additional research.
Richard married Jane Bushnell in Boston on January 27, 1681/2. They had at least one child named Christopher born in Boston on January 27, 1687. There is also report of a son named John, who was born earlier in 1684 and who died in 1727, but this information needs to be verified.
Richard was a butcher as described Bushnell's Bushnell Family Genealogy. On March 6, 1685/6, Richard signed a deed along with his wife Jane and Jane's brother John regarding property "deeded to Sampson Stoddard of Boston, mariner, the house and land near the dock head" in Dock Square that had been rented and occupied by widow Dorothy Hawkins. This property was located near Bendall's Dock and at today's 3 and 4 Dock Square in sight of Faneuil Hall. Though this property was located in Boston, this sale may have been also recorded in Salem's Land Records (Anderson, section "John Bushnell," p. 513).
Richard's date of death is unknown though it is likely he died in Boston.
