Doris was a Registered Nurse. She took her nurse's training at Trinity Hospital in Minot ND. She started working for Dr Henry Grannet(sp?) in Seattle in the early 1950's, after we children had all started school. She later went to work at Childrens' Hospital on Sandpoint Way in Seattle. She eventually became Charge Nurse on 2 North. When the Intensive Care Unit opened, she became Charge Nurse of that unit. She was very proud to be an R.N. and had many dear friends at the hospital and beyond.
Doris was active in her church, and famous for her Swedish Rye bread, which she made without carraway seeds because I didn't like them. She was always asked to donate some of the bread whenever there was a bake sale. It disappeared like magic when she made it for the family.
