Biography

No birth record has yet been identified for Andreas, but the death record (see below) states that he was 65 years old in July 1785 – indicating he was born in 1720 or 1721 – and that his parents were named Eric Andersson and Anna Andersdotter.

At some point he married Britta Bryngelsdotter, with whom he had at least one son: Bryngel Andersson, born on 9 May 1756[1] (mother's name mentioned in his death record[2]) She died in 1763, and was buried on the third Sunday in Lent (6 March).[3]

Later in 1763 he married Annika Persdotter; the record says "Dom. XXI p. Tr.", which was 23 October (but it is written between records dated 2 April and 6 May, suggesting that this may be a mistake and it perhaps should rather have been dated to one of the first four Sundays after Easter); at this time he lived at Ekesgärdet and she at Sonarp.[4]

Based on the birth records of their children (see below), they lived at Ekesgärdet until sometime between 1774 and 1777, when they moved to Sonarp Dalbogården. Unfortunately, the earliest surviving HHE records – from 1777-1786 – are incomplete, and do not cover Dalbogården.

He passed away from some sort of chest problem on 26 July 1785.[5]

Andreas and Annika had children:

  • Annika, baptized on 1 January 1767[6] and buried 1 March the same year[7]
  • Per, born 15 February 1768[8]
  • Anders, born 18 May 1771[9] and likely died young
  • Kerstin, born 1 August 1774[10]
  • Eric, born 7 March 1777[11] and likely died young
  • Andreas, born 20 May 1778[12]
  • Elisabeth, born 12 September 1781[13]
  • Annika, born 6 February 1785[14]
