Biography
Walter was born in 1898. He passed away in 1973.
Walt was the last of 6 children born to Frank T. and Martha Eschenbach. His older siblings were Frieda, Dorothy, Harriet, Lucille, and Raymond. Walt graduated from East Chicago High School in 1916, where he had been on the football team, baseball team, basketball team, debate team, and he wrote the sports column for the school newspaper. He married Theresa McElroy on April 9,1918 in Whiting, Indiana, and had two sons, Walter J. and Robert. Walt was later divorced from Theresa and subsequently married Thelma, who is buried next to him.
