Biography
Sarah Estelle was born about 1863 in New Jersey.[1] See notes about birth date. She was the daughter of Joseph A Estelle and Matilda (Vandervort).[2][3]
Sarah married Charles C. Burdge on May 16, 1885 [4] in Manasquan (Monmouth County), New Jersey.[5] They had 4 children born, with two living, Joseph Estelle Burdge[6] and Leon C. Burdge [7] Their son Leon is not listed with the family in the 1910 census[8] nor in the 1920 census,[9] but he is in the 1915 census[7] and in the 1930 census.[10]
Sarah died in 1937 and is buried in Allenwood Church Cemetery, Allenwood (Monmouth County), New Jersey.[1]
Notes
- The FindAGrave memorial has a birth date of 1863 and death date of 1937 which matches the gravestone.[1] In the 1870 census: Sarah is born in 1862,[2] in the 1880 census she is born in 1864,[3] and in the 1900 census she is born June 1864.[6] The 1915 New Jersey census states Sarah was born in June 1862.[7]
