Robert Esterly grew up in New Waterford, Columbiana, Ohio, United States.[1][2]
On 11 Aug 1943 in Akron, Ohio, Robert J Esterly enlisted in the US Army.[3]
Robert J. Esterly (age 21) married Arleta Seachrist (age 21) on 19 Oct 1945 in Columbiana, Ohio, United States.[4]
Robert J Esterly worked as an Upholsterer in a Furniture Factory in the 1950s. He & Arletta lived in New Waterford, Unity Township, Columbiana, Ohio, United States.[5]

Obituary
New Waterford, OH - Robert J. Esterly, 94, New Waterford, passed away 10:30 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Hospice House of Poland.
Robert was born August 23, 1924 in New Waterford, a son of the late Albert and Emma (Tomey) Esterly and had been a life-long resident. A 1942 graduate of New Waterford High School, he joined the U.S. Army and served during WWII in the European Theater, Germany, Belgium and France. He received the purple heart and silver star. Robert had been employed as an upholsterer for the former Kenmar Furniture Company, a division of Ethan Allen.
He was a member of the New Waterford United Methodist Church; played basketball and softball, filmed football and basketball for the high school; and loved playing golf five days a week. He was also the oldest member of the Benjamin Firestone American Legion Post #290 of Columbiana.
His wife, Arleta M. (Seachrist) Esterly, whom he married October 19, 1945, preceded him in death on December 5, 2017.
He is survived by three daughters, Anita Fitzsimmons, New Waterford, Eugenie Houp, Lisbon, and Barbara Robertson, Austintown; six grandchildren, Bruce Fitzsimmons, Dianna Beight, Christina Metzgar, Robert Houp, Megan Testa, and Steven Robertson; as well as eleven great grandchildren, Joel, Tyler, Allison, Madeline, Teya, Presley, Kendra, Kelsey, Kree, Carly and Donovin.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Houp, three great grandchildren, as well as two brothers, and four sisters.[6]
