GREENOUGH. July 13. [By Electric Telegraph.] A sad accident occurred here on Thursday last. A young man named Edward Evers den went out duck shouting at Nabagee, near Glengarry. He shot four ducks on a deep pool. He stripped himself and entered the pool to get the ducks, and it is supposed that he was seized with cramps and went down almost at once. His companions, hearing the report of the gun, went to see the result, and found his gun and clothes on the bank of the pool. Search, was instantly made for the body, but it was not recovered till next day. An inquest was held, and a verdict of accidental death was recorded. The funeral, which took place on Sunday was numerously attended.[2]
