Except for a three year absence while Dr. Eyring and his wife served as the mission president of the New England mission (1937-1939), he was the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Brigham Young University. The Carl F. Eyring Science Center, a building on the BYU Campus, was named after Dr. Eyring.[4]
