Biography
1774 Birth George was christened on the 16th of October 1774 in Coughton, Warwickshire. [1] He is the son of George Farr and Elizabeth.
1841 Census George and wife Elizabeth are recorded as living in Shirley Heath, Tanworth, Solihull. [2] They are both recorded as 65 years old (bearing in mind that the 1841 Census rounded ages down).
1851 Census In 1851, George is living in Shirley Heath, Tanworth, Solihull. [3] He is recorded as a 77 year old widow born in Coughton, Warwickshire. His occupation is Higgler. FamilyHistory.co.uk [4] tells us that a higgler is "an itinerant trader who bought and sold goods such as butter, cheese, poultry eggs and fish." George is the head of the household which includes his son John, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, and grand-daughters Charlotte and Elizabeth.
