Biography

Mary Ann was born about 1788 at Walmer, Kent, England[1][2][3] and baptised on the 24th February 1788 at Walmer, Kent, England, the daughter of Edward Farrier and Sarah Farrier[4].

On the 9th April 1813, Mary Ann, spinster and John Pierce, bachelor and shepherd, married at St. Mary the Virgin, Ripple, Kent, England. Witnessed by William Akers and T? Philpot[5]

In 1819, Mary Ann and John were living at Walmer Road, Walmer, Kent, England.[6]

Mary Ann's husband died on the 19th April 1872, aged 90 years.

Mary Ann passed away aged 91 years on the 12th March 1878[7] at Ripple, Kent, England.[8] and was probably buried at St. Mary the Virgin, Ripple, Kent, England.

Research Notes

One newspaper gives her death date as the 11th March 1878[22], however, all the others give a date of the 12th March 1878. The actual death registration entry would confirm the date.
