John Faulkhead was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)

John Honeyman Faulkhead was born in 1857 in Carisbrook, Colony of Victoria,^[1] the son of William Folkerd and Ursula Smith.

In 1879, John Honeyman Faulkhead married Florence Selina Barratt Ford in the Colony of Victoria.^[2]

He passed away as a result of a mining accident on 12 September 1886 in Majorca, Colony of Victoria^[3] and was buried at the Maryborough Cemetery, Maryborough, Central Goldfields Shire, Victoria, Australia^[4].

FATAL MINING ACCIDENT.

MARYBOROUGH, SUNDAY.

A fatal accident occurred last evening to a miner named John Faulkhead, at the New Kong Meng Company's mine, Majorca. He was engaged panelling about 3ft, in from the eastern drive, and while discussing with his mates as to the quickest mode of getting out the ground a sudden fall of drift took place, burying Faulkhead. On being extricated, nearly an hour afterwards, he was found to be quite dead. He was 30 years of age, and a widower with three children. An inquest was commenced this afternoon, but only formal evidence was taken, and the inquiry was adjourned until to-morrow.
