Nellye was born Oct. 9, 1915, in Witoka, Minn., to Lewis and Myrtle (Hayter) Fay. She graduated from Winona Senior High in 1935. She was formerly married to Newell "Pete" Rohlfing. She had one son, Peter Rohlfing. Nellye was employed at J.R. Watkins for 32 years, retiring in 1978. She served on the Homer Township Board as Treasurer for 42 years; served as the Winona County Township Officer Association's board for 10 years and the Homer Township Ambulance Service Board for 12 years. She was a member of Homer United Methodist Church and a 60 year member of the Pickwick No. 191 Order of the Eastern Star. Nellye is survived by her brother, John "Jack" Fay of Fergus Falls, Minn.; two nieces, Patricia Fay of Fergus Falls and Vicki Fay (Niel) Monahan of Winona; one nephew, Robert (Ardell) Fay of Graham, Wash.; and a sister-in-law, Marion Fay. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Peter Rohlfing; a brother, Warren "Bud" Fay; and a sister, Marion Fay Benson. Funeral services for Nellye will be Saturday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m.. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Winona.
