Biography

Katherine was born in 1847, daughter of William & Jeanne Susanne Ernestine Claudine. She was baptised on 14 February 1847 in Ambleside, Westmorland, England.^[1]

In the 1861 census Katherine (age 14) was living with her parents, siblings and 3 servants in Ambleside, Westmorland, England. Her father was a surgeon. ^[2]

Katharine married the mineralogist Walter Flight on 15 May 1880 in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, England.^[3] The couple had 3 children together before Walter's death at the age of 44 in 1885.

In the 1891 census Katherine (age 44) was a widow living with her 3 children, sister Eleanor and a general servant at Wildwood Terrace, Hampstead, London^[4]

In the 1911 census Katherine (age 64) was the widowed head of household at 50 Temple Fortune Hill, Golders Green, Hendon, England. She was living with 2 of her children and a servant. ^[5]

In the 1939 register Katharine was living in Bush Cottage, Mere and Tisbury, Wiltshire, England.^[6]

Katherine's death (age 95) was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1942 in the Mere district.^[7]
