Biography

Sussex (historic flag, adopted 2011)
John Fellows was born in Icklesham, Sussex, England.

John Fellows was born on 11 Apr 1877 in Icklesham, Sussex, England to Joshua Fellows and Elizabeth Baker.[1] He was baptised on 3 Jun 1877 at All Saints and St Nicholas church in Icklesham.[2]

He lived with his parents in Icklesham until his marriage, working as an agricultural worker when he was old enough.[3] [4] He worked as an agricultural worker his whole life.

John married Annie Eliza Sims on 18 Feb 1901 at All Saints and St Nicholas church in Icklesham.[5] [6] [7] Annie Sims is the sister of Edward Henry Sims who married John's sister, Elizabeth Alice Fellows.

They were living in Icklesham in 1901.[8] But by 1904 they had moved to Warehorne, Kent where they lived for the rest of their lives.[9] [10]

John Fellows died in the third quarter of 1950 in Warehorne.[11] He was 73 years old.

His funeral was reported in the newspaper:
THE FUNERAL took place on Saturday [9 Sep 1950] at the [Warehorne] Parish Church [St Matthew's] of Mr. John Fellows, 73, who died suddenly at his home, 5, Monk's Hill-cotts. A former farm labourer, he was employed all his working life by Messrs. Bates Barling, snr. and jnr., except for about four years.
