Biography

Lottie Felsinger was born on 19 Aug 1869 in Kingston, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, according to records in her parents' family bible (see Births page image). She was the youngest of three daughters born to Jacob Sander Felsinger (1841 - 1904) and his first wife Cordelia C Smith (1842 - 1872). Lottie's older sisters were:

1. Minnie Rosamond Felsinger (1866 - 1922)
2. Annie F Felsinger (1867 - 1909)

After the death of her mother Cordelia, Lottie's father Jacob married Clara S Kennedy (1834 - 1934) from which union were born four children. Lottie's half-siblings were:

1. Sara A Felsinger (1876 - >1940)
2. William M Felsinger (1879 - 1901)
3. Katherine Felsinger (1882 - 1960)
4. Helen Mae Felsinger (1884 - >1950)

The Felsinger family cannot be found anywhere in the US in the 1870 census, but it appears that after mother Cordelia's death, Jacob sent the three girls to live with their maternal grandparents, as all three can be found in the household of Daniel and Elizabeth Smith in Snydertown, Northumberland, Pennsylvania during the 1880 census.^[1]

On 15 Dec 1888, Lottie married George Fredrick Miller (1864 - 1944) in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.^[2] Their children were:

1. Mabel Claire Miller (1889 - 1979)
2. Marion Katherine (Miller) Kerstetter (1899 - 1974)
3. Unnamed Infant Miller (1909 - 1909).

Following their marriage, it isn't completely clear where George and Lottie first settled. It appears their first child, Mabel, was born in Dennison Township, Luzerne County, PA, but by the birth of Marion in 1899, they were living in nearby Nescopeck, Luzerne, PA, which is where they were for the 1900 census.^[3] George was working as a ticket agent for the railroad at the time. However, by 1910, the family had moved to Shamokin, Northumberland County, where George continued his career with the railroad as a station agent until retirement sometime before 1930, with Lottie as the homemaker.^{[4] [5] [6]} In 1935, George and Lottie resided in Sunbury, PA, but sometime between 1935 and 1940, they followed their daughters to Longview, Gregg, Texas where they remained for the rest of their lives.^[7]

Lottie (Felsinger) Miller died on 2 May 1950 in Longview aged 80. She is buried in Memory Park Cemetery, Harrison, Texas, United States.^[8]
