Biography

Agnes Fenton was born on July 15, 1920 in Strawn Texas. She was the daughter of Hiram Fenton and Mattie Unknown. Agnes married Melvin Lynn Armstrong on Nov 5, 1945. She passed away on March 4, 2008 and was laid to rest in Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton Texas.^[1]

Obituary

PERRYTON - Agnes ARMSTRONG, 87, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Harrol Waterbury officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton.

Mrs. ARMSTRONG was born July 15, 1920, in Strawn to Hiram and Mattie FENTON. She married Melvin ARMSTRONG on November 5, 1945.

She owned and operated Nature's Way Health Food Store in Perryton from 1977 to 1993. She was a bookkeeper and shop boss at Melvin's Electric from 1958 to the early 1970s, and she was a practical nurse in the early 1940s.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Rita CALLAHAM and husband Bob of Dumas and Paula ALEXANDER and husband Rod of Perryton; two sons, Mick ARMSTRONG and wife Gina of Perryton and Dwayne ARMSTRONG and girlfriend Lois Ann SCHULTZ of Booker; a brother, Rex FENTON and wife Jo Ann of Ozona; three granddaughters, Angie HAMBY and husband Randal of Dumas, Tobi BAIZE and husband Brian of San Antonio and Lesli FILE and husband DeWayne of Amarillo; three grandsons, Reid CALLAHAM and wife Montess of Dumas, Tanner ALEXANDER of Fort Worth and Collin ARMSTRONG of Perryton; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Senior Village Nursing Home, 3101 S. Main St., Perryton, TX 79070; Twin Oaks Manor, 112 N. Pioneer St., Booker, TX 79005; or the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 411 S. Fillmore St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
