Biography
Despite the statement in her obituary, Mary is not listed as a passenger on the Berkshire. Her sister Catherine Finn also apparently came on that vessel. There is no evidence their parents came to the colony.
Mary married Ygnatius Boladeras on 20 July 1859 in Perth.[1]
- The funeral of another old colonist took place on Sunday afternoon, in the person of Mrs, Mary Boladeras, relict of the late Mr. Ygnatius Boladeras, for many years a merchant in Murray-street. The deceased lady was born at Cork, Ireland, and arrived in this State at the age of twelve with her parents in 1856, by the sailing ship Berkshire. She had resided in this city for 62 years. The deceased leaves a grown-up family of three daughters and a number of grand-children to mourn their loss. The cortege moved from the residence 1183 Hay-street, and proceeded to the Roman Catholic portion of the Karrakatta cemetery, where the remains were interred, the Rev. Father D. Moloney conducting the last rites. The chief mourners were: Mrs. J. Corbett, Mrs. E. Nairn, and Mrs. W. T. Bryan (daughters), Messrs. J. Corbett, E. Nairn, and H. D. Gibbs (sons-in-law), Masters F. and L. Bola-deras, J. and G. Gibbs, and T. Bryan (grandsons), Misses D. and E. Bryan (grand-daughters), Mr. J. Negus (nephew), Mr. R. Claffey, Mrs. H. V. Staunton, Mr. E. Barden, Miss Howe, and Mrs. Hemy (very old friends).[2]
