James McGee Finnie was born in 1857 to Hugh Finnie, coalminer, and his wife Janet McGee in Riccarton, Ayr. ^[1]

Marriage. He married Elizabeth McMinn on 15th July 1881 in Scotland. ^[2]

Death. James McGee Finnie died in 1893, aged 35. His death was registered Coalville, Victoria, Australia, naming his parents correctly. ^{[3] [4]}
