Biography

William Fish was born in Lincolnshire, England.

William Fish was born in 1841 in Owston Ferry, Lincolnshire. He was the son of John Fish & Ann Flatters, and was baptised on 24 August 1841 in Owston, Lincolnshire.^[1] The family were living in Owston, and his father was a Farmer. ^{[2] [3]}

William was living with his parents and siblings in Owston, Lincolnshire, in 1841 ^[4] and 1851. ^[5] By 1861 age 20 he was an Assistant Grocer in Epworth, Lincolnshire in the household of William Read, Grocer & Draper.^[6]

On 11 October 1868 William 27, married Eleanor Pidd 17, at St Oswald in Crowle, Lincolnshire, ^{[7] [8]} and in 1871 they were living in Crowle where William was a Draper's Assistant. ^[9] In 1881 ^[10] and 1891 they were living in Doncaster, Yorkshire. They had at least 8 children. ^[11]

William died age 51 on 26 June 1892, and was buried at Hyde Park Cemetery, Doncaster. His wife Eleanor also died the following September. ^{[12] [13]}
