GARRETT — PHYLLIS J CUSTER-COLE, 80, of Garrett died Thursday May 1, 2008 at 11:08 pm at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

She worked in packaging at Stanadyne in Garrett for 12 years retiring on July 1, 1978. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garrett, the Garrett Eagles Auxiliary and the Garrett American Legion Auxiliary. She played cards at the Heimach Senior Center in Auburn.

She was born June 25, 1927 in Auburn to Walter W and Lela (Houghton) Foltz.

She married Junior W Custer on Feb 7, 1944 in Fort Wayne. He died Aug 24, 1987.

She married Franklin Cole on Aug 22, 1992 in Garrett. He died Oct 17, 2006.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law of Garrett; three stepsons and their spouses; a stepdaughter and her husband of Albion; three grandchildren and their spouses; numerous stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous stepgreat-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law; and two sisters and brothers-in-law.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 am at the First Baptist Church in Garrett with Pastor David Mix officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery in rural Garrett. Calling will be Monday from 2-7 pm at Thomas Funeral Home 1277 CR 56 Garrett and Tuesday from 9 -10 am at the church.
