Biography

Birth and Early Life

William Forman was born in 1802 at Lonmay, Aberdeenshire, and baptised on 3 April 1802^[1] He was the son of John Forman.^[2]

Marriage and Children

William married Margaret Jack on 23 May 1841 in Lonmay.^[3] They had two sons, William and Alexander.

Occupation and Lifestyle

The 1851 Census shows William as head of the family and aged 49, He was a Pauper (Ag Labourer). Margaret Jack-Forman, aged 48 is shown as his wife, Son William was 9 years old and a scholar and Alexander was aged 7 but not shown as going to school. Page 4 of 19 shows that William's father, John Forman is living in the house next door with his houskeeper, Mary Thomson.^[6] The 1881 census shows that his wife Margaret Forman is 77 and still living.^[7] The 1891 census showed William as a retired Ag Lab and widower and boarding at nether Park Cottage, Lonmay.This indicates that Margaret died after the 1881 census but prior to the 1891 census.^[8]

Death

William died, aged 90, in 1892 in Lonmay.^[9]

He had lived in Lonmay, Aberdeen all his life. LONMAY, a parish, in the district of Deer, county of Aberdeen, 6 miles (S. E. by S.) from Fraserburgh; containied the village of St. Combs.^[10]
