Robert is the child of Alexander Forrest and Janet Young.
In 1871 Robert was living at Porter Hall, Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire with his grand parents, uncles and aunts.[2]
In 1881 he was living at Greenaton, Carnwath with his parents and siblings[3]
In 1891 Robert was living at 3 Loan Street, Carnwath with his wife Margaret and their son Alexander. He was a coal miner.[4]
In 1901 Robert was living at 44 Springhill Buildings, Calderhead, Cambusnethan with his wife Margaret and their six children. Robert was a coal miner.[5]
