Biography
George Forsyth migrated from Scotland to New Zealand.
George Forsyth lived in Hāwera, Taranaki, New Zealand.
George was born in 1855 at Kelso, Roxburghshire. He was the son of Robert Forsyth and Jane Davidson.
[1]
His parents were service staff at an inn in Kelso. They seem to have both died in 1870.
George came to New Zealand as an Assisted Immigrant aboard the Rodney arriving 29 August 1875 at Wellington. His profession was "assistant".
[2]
He resided at Hāwera until 1897. His uncle Mr. James Davidson was another early settler to Hawera; George worked in James's general store for a time.
