Most widely known for co-starring with Michael Landon on two television series. He appeared on Little House on the Prairie (1974–1977), (1981–1984) as Isaiah Edwards (French also directed some episodes of that series) and then on Highway to Heaven (1984–1989) as Mark Gordon.
Victor was born December 4, 1934 in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles county, California. He was the son of actor and stuntman Victor French and Nellie Louise Cowles.
Following in his father's footsteps, French also began his television career as a stuntman in mostly westerns and anthology shows. He was inducted (as a cast member of Little House on the Prairie (1974) into the Hall of Great Western Performers of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in 1998.
After a three month battle with lung cancer, Victor passed away at the age of 54 on June 15, 1989 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California. He was cremated and his ashes were scattered at sea near Santa Barbara, California.[1]
