Biography

Robert Edward Frommert was born July 20 1919 in Niagara Falls, New York. He was the eldest child of Louis Frommert and Lefie Waite.

Was serving with the 3rd Bat, AT, 337th Infantry Regiment, 85th Infantry Division when he was KIA on Oct 25th 1944, most likely in operations on Mount Mezzano on the Gothic line. Buried Plot G Row 1 Grave 25, Florence American Cemetery, Florence, Italy.

Lieut. Frommert Dies in Action

First Lieutenant Robert E. Frommert, 25, was killed in action in Italy on October 25, according to a telegram received by his wife, Mrs. Vivian R. Frommert, of 831 Willow avenue, from the War department. Lieutenant Frommert was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Frommert, of 1408 Eighth street. A graduate of Niagara university. He entered the service June 29, 1942, and was commissioned in January, 1943, at Fort Benning Georgia. He had been overseas since November 29, 1943, and participated in the African and Italian invasions. Besides his parents and his wife, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Margaret O'Sulllvan, of this city.
