Ivan Richard Froud, 17 years old, laborer, Footscray, was charged with breaking and entering the shop of Elsie Whitehurst, Melbourne rd., with intent to commit a felony; the shop of Letitia Morrissey, Russell pl., and stealing a quantity of fruit; the shop of Helen Canvert, Railway pl., and stealing about £5 in money; and entering the office of the Empress Southern Theatres Pty. Ltd with intent to commit a felony.
After evidence had been taken, defendant pleaded not guilty to all charges, and was committed for trial at the next Supreme Court sitting on August 16. Detective Dawson prosecuted.
