He married Elva Radell Davis on 18 December 1938, in Bethlehem, Northampton, Pennsylvania. They were the parents of at least 1 son. He lived in Hemlock Township, Columbia, Pennsylvania for about 30 years. He died on 6 June 1991, in Bloomsburg, Columbia, Pennsylvania at the age of 79, and was buried in Straubs Lutheran Cemetery, Danville, Montour, Pennsylvania.
