Joseph's birth was registered in the 3rd quarter of 1848 in the Sunderland district. The mother's maiden name was Pattison. ^[1]

On 6 Aug 1848, Joseph son of James Fulton and Mary Pattison was baptised at Deptford Chapel. ^[2]
