Determining who were the wives of Franklin's father Jonathan, when he was married to them, and who the children's mothers were needs more information.
Franklin was born before Jonathan's 1866 marriage to Samantha Rainwater [1] and after the census where Francis is shown to be Jonathan's wife, so it is reasonable to say that Francis was Franklin's mother.
Franklin's father Jonathan Gadberry was a farmer in Tates Precinct, Casey County, Kentucky in 1870. The nearest Post Office to the farm was at Williams Store. Jonathan's real estate was worth $500, and personal property was worth $1000. Samantha was not able to write.
