Gilmore 1829 |
R B Townsend Gahan was born in about 1813.
He traveled to Western Australia with a servant, William Tuomey, on the Gilmore, arriving on 15 December 1829.[1] [2]
R B Townsend was granted 2,560 acres in the colony.[1]
The Townsend Gahans were an Irish family, but how R B fits in is unclear. The B may stand for Beresford - a Beresford Gahan married a Henrietta Townsend, although R B is not listed as a child.[3][4]
A Richard Boyle Townsend Gahan, born ca 1814, died in 1841 in Pennsylvania.[5]
