In the 1881 Scotland Census James Galbraith 39 born about 1842 in Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, coalminer, was head of his household in 1 Wilson Ter, Hamilton, Lanarkshire. Other Household Members were his wife Sarah Galbraith 43 1838 Ireland; and his father Robert Galbraith 81 born about 1800 in Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, coal miner. His son James Galbraith 15 1866 England; son John Galbraith 14 1867 Old Monkland, Lanarkshire; daughter Rachall Galbraith 9 1872 Dalziel, Lanarkshire; daughter Sarah Galbraith 2 1879 Bothwell, Lanarkshire; and daughter Mary Galbraith 2 Mo 1881 Bothwell, Lanarkshire; and his son Andrew Galbraith 9 1872 Cam'Nethan, Lanarkshire, scholar .
