Richard Gallop was recorded in the 1623 Visitation of Dorset as the sixth son of Thomas Gallop and his wife Agnes (Watkins); he married Mary Davy and had issue, including an eldest son John.[1] Following Richard’s death, his widow was married to his kinsman Roger Gollop.[2]
The will of Richard Gallopp of North Bowood, gent, was dated 17 February 1610 and included the following relatives:
The will was proved at London 5 May 1610.[3]
A Richard, son of Thomas Gollop, was baptised 29 May 1564 at Stoke Abbott, Dorset[4] but he was probably the Richard who was buried at the same place 9 January 1604/5.
