Biography

Arthur was born on 19 December 1847^[1] at the Isle of Man. He was the second of two children of Edward Gandell and Eleanor Crawford. He was baptised on 9 February 1848^[2] at Onchan, Isle of Man. Although born and baptised on the Isle of Man Arthur's birth was registered at Chelsea, London, in the first quarter of 1848.

Arthur died in late 1849. His death was registered at Chelsea, London, in the fourth quarter of the year. He was buried in the West of London and Westminster Cemetery, Earl's Court, Old Brompton, London on 4 November 1849. The family address noted in the burial record was Grape Cottage, Chelsea. His age at death is given as 1 year, 11 months.
